From The Soapbox

Time has caught me off guard as usual. The reunion planning has been wrapped up and all the details have been considered. The only thing left for me to do is get to the meeting on time! After two weddings last summer and the anticipated birth of our second grandchild in March, we are about worn out. This winter has been especially cold and snowy with our first real white Christmas in my memory. I have spent a lot of time working on the family tree, not going back so much as going forward and sideways. The number of Gaither descendants continue to grow with each search on the public record sites. There have been no new developments on the new scanner. I thought we would wait until the project was set up and ready to go so as to get the latest version and at hopefully a lower cost.

Thanks to those sending in both family tree information and materials for the newsletter. We will try and get those not used in the newsletter on the website. The website is (hopefully by the time you read this) back on line and updated. Most of the problems we have had are from the computer and operator being used to update it. We are working on it. If you have a suggestion for the website, please forward it to Patricia Dyson as the head of our computer committee.

If you would like to host or assist a reunion, please contact Johnny D. Gaither our reunion committee chair. We are going to try and have some things done a little sooner than in the past. It is difficult to find a host and get the meeting set up for the next time in the space of two hours. We have been blessed with willing hosts and great meeting sites but we don't want to push our luck.

Also, if there are any suggestions for projects for the group, please let me know. Thanks for all your help!
